I have been wondering since Wright was about 6 months old when he would start getting his teeth, and now it is finally happening. Poor guy is not just getting one or two but six teeth at once. He has been crying and basically miserable for three days now. The two next to the top middle teeth have broken through and now the top and bottom middle are working their way out. I feel so bad for him cause he is just so unhappy and surely wondering what in the heck is happening to him. It has also been quite a learning experience for me because I am not used to a clingy, fussy baby and by the end of the day, I am exhausted. Hopefully for both our sake's this will be over soon.

A Game of Catch
Brendan cannot wait until Wright is old enough to throw the baseball in the front yard, but until then, they practice with his small ball in the playroom.

Dressed in Sunday's Best
Wright looked so cute in his little suit for church yesterday so we had to get some pics. After we took these, his snaps kept busting open, so we had to change his outfit. He is getting so big...nothing fits anymore!

Sean's Swim Meet
We had a big Saturday morning. We all got up and headed to Frisco at 8:30am for Sean's Special Olympics swim meet. Wright loved watching all of the kids and spending time with his aunt, uncle and big cousins. The best part of all was that Sean got 2nd place in the 50 yard freestyle!

Pillow Forts
Wright had so much fun the other day crawling all over the couch pillows and underneath tunnels I made with them.

Random 9 Month Pics and Tidbits
Chillin' in his new monkey pjs before going to get Daddy from the airport.
He loves most of his toys now, this one is fun because with my help he will rock on it and have a big time!
A rocking cow? I still love it.

Clap, Clap, Clap Your Hands
Wright is VERY proud of his new skill that Mimi taught him - clapping his hands. He does it about every minute or so. Crawl, stop, clap...pull up, sit down, clap...laugh at dog, sit back, clap...I could go on and on.

Walking and Barking?
This weekend, Wright learned to walk behind his push toy. He is getting so big! While he does it, he often makes this high pitched noise that sounds like a yippy little dog. We are not sure if he thinks he is talking or barking.

Dinner at the Clark's House
Wright and I went over to Chris and Mary Clark's house last night with Melanie and Patrick. Kennedy, their almost 4 year old, LOVES Wright. She talks about him all the time and sometimes even gets her doll and pretends to be me with baby Wright. It is hysterical. She kept insisting on holding him the whole night. Here are some cute pics.Kennedy holding Wright.

Cousin Caitlin
We had such a fun week this past week. Caitlin was in town visiting and stayed at our house. We went shopping, out to lunch, to the waterpark and had lots of family time watching the Olympics. Wright LOVED her. I think he is just so fascinated by older kids (even teenagers). A couple of times, he would reach for her when I was holding him. Needless to say, we were very sad for her to leave.
Brendan is out of town this weekend on his fantasy football guys trip in Charleston. We dropped him off at the airport on Thursday. So, we have been having to come up with fun things to do while he is gone. Yesterday we hung out with Caitlin before she left and then went to an early dinner with Candace last night. Today, we are going to go over to Aunt Melanie's for swimming and watching the Cowboy game tonight. Should be a good time, but we miss B a lot already.Caitlin and Wright.

He LOVES his swing.

Separation Anxiety
At his 9 month checkup, Dr. Dreiling told us that in the 9-12 month stage, it is very common for babies to start getting separation anxiety. We never really thought we would have that problem with Wright because he is just so laid back about everything. But this weekend, we saw the beginnings of it. At one point, a friend of ours picked him up and he screamed until I held him. The next day he cried for a few minutes when Mimi left our house. So, needless to say, we were a little worried about how he would be for the Harpers while they took care of him on Saturday night (B and I had a date). Turns out, he did great. I think it helped that his friend Lanie was there to play with him. When we left, he did not even notice us walk out the door because he was so intrigued with her.
We are excited about the week ahead. Caitlin, my 13 year old cousin, is in town from Austin and staying with us. We have a lot of fun things planned.

Girls' Lunch and National Night Out
Yesterday Wright went to lunch with Mommy and two of her friends, Jamie R. and Sharon. He had a big time at Taco Diner and it was the first time he got his own food off the menu (avocado and rice). That night, we went with the Harpers to our neighborhood National Night Out and saw ponies, a fire truck and other animals in the petting zoo but Wright was mostly intrigued by all the big kids running around.

Bathtime Fun and Talking up a Storm
I have been meaning to get these pics up here for a while. One of Wright's all-time favorite things is his bath. He can be in the worst mood, but the second he gets in there, he is full of energy and as happy as can be. By far his favorite toy is the rubber ducky that squeaks.
Also in the last couple of weeks, Wright's babbling has greatly increased. He now says ba, da, ga, pah, wah, ya, nay and ma. And he already talks incessantly. We just know he is a genius! ;)

A Night in Fort Worth
We went to Fort Worth last night to visit Courtney and Nelson and meet their new baby Ellie. Wright had the best time with Hudson, their almost 2 year old. He followed Hudson everywhere and was intrigued with all the big boy things he did (like bouncing on his horse toy and throwing/catching balls). The Akhtars were there too and Wright loved hanging out with Molly as usual. When we were taking pictures of the two of them, Wright kept pointing to Molly's nose and staring at her...I think he recognizes her from all the times they see each other.
I saw first hand how much work 2 kids are that are so close together in age. Courtney is very impressive with how she handles it all - I don't think I could do it!
