Little Man in a Bath Robe

A friend gave Spencer this monogrammed bath robe when he was born. Put it on him for the first time tonight...pretty cute! And he loved being naked as a jay bird underneath :)

Picky Picky Picky

Help! Spencer is such a picky eater and it is driving me crazy! Every meal has become a battle and he has gotten to where he won't even try anything healthy (even stuff he used to like). I make him a plate of a few things for every meal - usually one I know he likes and 2 or 3 things that he may not but are good for him. He will eat only the thing he likes and nothing else, and then sometimes he won't eat anything at all. We have tried time outs during meal time because otherwise he just sits there and cries. I don't want to give into him but I am on the verge of just feeding him the things he likes for a little peace. I knew having another eater like Wright was a long shot, but this is horrible! I feel for all moms of picky eaters out there...

Spencer's Words and Other Updates

Spencer is finally talking a lot more and repeating much more than before. Some new words are...
- Love you
- Chesca (Miss Francesca, his teacher)
- Bible
- Rye (Wright)
- BotBot (robot)
- Guide (outside)
- Bar (cereal bar)
- Cuh Cuh (cookie)
- Meeal (milk)

Other updates:
- Still says "now" after everything. "Bye bye now", "Guide now", "Mama, blah blah blah blah blah, NOW!"
- Like his brother did, when I say that he needs to stop something, he starts saying "no" and spanking himself on the leg!
- Unlike his brother, he is an extremely picky eater. He frequently skips meals if he is not offered anything that he likes.
- He is very good at climbing and can go up the fort ladder and down by himself. I also found him trying to drive the Jeep car the other day!
- He falls and hits his head at least 5 times a day and it never seems to phase him
- He constantly sings or hums the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle"
- He still gets frusterated that he can't say what he wants and whines a lot when he needs something - working on this :)
- He is still the biggest flirt and wins over everyone with his smile and dimples. The teachers at school love him and come up to me talking about how precious he is all the time. Definitely a charmer :)

Wright Quote

My favorite Wright quote of the weekend was "Mom, what games are we on today? Are we on baseball? Or basketball? Or football?... (long pause) Or golf?" Can you tell we watch a lot of sports at our house!?

Spencer in Older Toddler's MDO

Spencer had a great first day with Miss Claudia and Miss Francesca. They said he smiled all the time and was a flirt! Here is his report card.

I went to check in on him around noon and was amazed to find all the babies asleep soundly on nap mats. I really had serious doubts about Spencer doing well with a mat, but I was wrong. He was out like a light and so were 7 other babies. When we got home, he went to his crib and got his blankie and laid on the floor like he was sleeping. He must really love it. :)

Wright in Mrs. Hugg's Class - PreK 4s

Wright has been ecstatic since last year to be in Mrs. Hugg's class. She is the teacher right across the hall from me and is wonderful. He has always loved her and knows she has the "big kids." He is also going to stay from 12-3 with her on Wednesdays to do Little Explorers science class. He will be at school Mondays and Wednesdays until 3.

A little interview after school today.
- What was the best thing you did at school today? - "Play and stay and take my nap"
- What was the best thing you did with Mrs. Hugg? - "Get surprises from her."
- What did you do in your classroom? - "A scavenger hunt, paint, circle time and play with toys."
- What did you read? - "The Kissing Hand on Mrs. Hugg's computer."
- Who did you play with? - "All the friends like Lauren and Ella's not there. And where's Ava?" (uh, guess he likes the girls in his class :)
- What did you play outside? - "I played with Jackson but he just ran off. So, that's all..."

Summer Beach Trip

We had the best time at the beach this year with the Elverums and Croffords. We left Saturday morning at 4am and got there around 5pm. It was a long drive but well worth it. Seaside is my happy place - I really love everything about it. This year we spent every morning at the beach with packed lunches and went out every night for dinner. Many nights we spent in Seaside letting the kids run around, enjoying the concert in the park and children's play and eating tons yummy food. We also went out one night with just adults. The moms got to leave at 4 to shop and get some cocktails at Bud and Alleys before the dads met us. Then we had dinner at Cafe 30-a which is always awesome. Overall the trip was wonderful and we can't wait to go back next year!

It was hot but Wesley and Spencer had fun on the blanket with toys.

Wright's favorite treat to get was this green apple snow cone.

Posing at one of the Seaside houses.

All 6 kids - when we took this picture I think everyone within a mile was starring at us as we screamed to get them all to look at the camera.

The boys practiced playing frisbee.

Oh Spence...

Wanna play some football?

These older boys down the beach from us were boogy boarding and stopped to teach Wright and Jake to do it - so sweet!

Practicing.

Moms and kids posing.

Just playing in the sand.

My boys.

Dad and Spence.

Wright wanted this fishing net so bad but could not catch anything.

Spencer's favorite part by far was sitting in the chair eating his lunch.

This was our boardwalk down to the beach everyday.

Another attempt to get all 6 kids in a pic on our porch.

Spencer was very intrigued by Molly Mae eating her bottle. He kept laying next to her.

Baby in a Bag

Love this pic!

Roughriders Game

We took Wright to the Roughriders game on Sunday. He had the best time. The highlights were the "dinosaur" (unknown mascot), singing "Take me out to the ball game", all the food (nachos, cotton candy, dippin dots, peanuts) and running the bases at the end. On the way home he said "I had the very best time at the baseball game!" Even though it was over 100 degrees, we were in the shade and it was just fine. All in all, a wonderful summer evening.

The Beards were in town and got to come with us.

Wright told Eliza Grace that he loved her :) Such a charmer.
