Sea Island

We had the best time in Sea Island with the Hamiltons.  It was just one of those trips that was close to perfect.  The weather came through for us despite many threats of thunderstorms, the kids got a long great and the adults got to go out two nights without kids!  We came home rested and wishing we could have stayed longer.  I even teared up when the Hamiltons left.  I hate living so far away from one of my best friends but really treasured getting to spend several days together.

Here are some things I want to remember:
- Wright and Porter hitting it off and playing so well together, fast friends for sure
- Spencer LOVING the pool but screaming when the sand stuck on him
- Sweet baby Cole going with the flow and never getting upset
- Jack who wanted to be such a big boy and seemed closer to Wright's age than Spencer's ;)
- Getting to relax by the pool several times with a book
- Brendan and Alan playing golf twice at 2 amazing courses, 1 of which is ranked as one of the best in the world
- Fun dinners out with adults sharing hysterical stories
- The Cloister, how beautiful it is and how easy being at a resort made a beach trip with kids

Easter

We had a great Easter this year!  Kim and her family came in town and we all had a blast.  Lots of fun time with the cousins especially tons of one on one play time with Porter (who is 9 months older than Wright).  It was so fun seeing the two of them bond :)  We had brunch at Mimi's house where we hunted baskets and then went to Melanie's to find eggs.

Girls' Trip to Round Top

For Christmas, my sisters and I gave our mom a girls' trip to Round Top. We went with my mom's best friend and her daughter who I have known my whole life. It was such a great weekend! We stayed at the Round Top Inn, the most adorable Bed and Breakfast. Everything about the trip was great, from the perfect country town, delicous food, relaxed atmosphere, awesome shopping (I bought tons for my house) and great company. We have already booked our trip back in late September for the next antique show.

Cake Face

Every few months, I am supposed to let Spencer try something with eggs baked in it to see how he reacts to it because of his allergy. So, today we baked crumb cake and I told him he could have some after dinner. First of all, he shoved his dinner down as fast as he could, including blueberries and strawberries which he NEVER eats. Then I gave him a piece as he was excitedly chanting "cupcake, cupcake!" He ate it piece after piece hardly breathing, I kept thinking he was going to choke! Then I cleaned up and went in the other room. About 1o minutes later, Wright calmly came walking in and said "Mommy, Spencer is eating cake on the floor." I went in the kitchen to find Spencer perched in a pile of cake that he had pulled onto the floor shoving it into his face. When he saw me coming, he grabbed as much as he could, stood up, and shoved more in as he ran away doing a little dance as he went. Funny kid! He was in heaven with that cake - hope he is not covered in echsema tomorrow!

Wright's First Soccer Game

Wright has been asking to be "part of a team" for a few months. So we decided to sign him up for soccer this season. He LOVES it! I was a bit worried that he would be standing in the corner picking flowers or saying he was too tired, but he did not do that at all. He ran and played so hard and even volunteered to go back in when the coach needed an extra player. We are looking forward to a great first season - Go Kickin' Monkeys!

Love this pic - shows how hard he was working.
