Anyone who knows Wright at all knows that ever since he was born, he has had a major spitting up problem. The doctor assures us that nothing is wrong with him and he is growing normally, but this child pukes more than any baby I have ever seen. It has always been a pain to deal with but when he started eating solid foods, it stopped being a nuisance and began being just plain gross.
Today we were out running errands and he looked so cute in his outfit that I decided to live on the edge and keep the bib off. I was taking him in and out of his car seat as we went from store to store and holding him in my arms while we were inside. Every time we got out of the car, I would say "Please please please don't spit up on me." and for over an hour he held up his end of the bargain. I think you know where this is going...
We were waiting in line at the movie store and this nice older lady was behind us talking to Wright and telling me how adorable he is. She was pinching his toes and cooing with him and then out of nowhere, there is throw up everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE! It is all over my arm and splattered on the floor. As I am profusely apologizing, she is busy looking in her purse for something to help me clean it up. I could not have been more embarrassed. Luckily, she was nice enough to be understanding (or at least to pretend to not care that there was baby barf on her shoes). And on top of all of this, his cute outfit was covered and smelled like his lunch...I don't know why I bother. Oh, another day in the life of motherhood.
